The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a last-minute change in the venue for the upcoming multi-day match between India A Women and Australia A Women on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The originally scheduled game will no longer be played in Dharamsala.
However, the dates for the four-day fixture between the India women’s national cricket team and the Australia women’s national cricket team will remain unchanged, with the match scheduled from September 29 to October 2, 2026. Rain forces venue change for India A Women vs Australia A match
The India A Women vs. Australia A Women multi-day match was originally scheduled at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (HPCA) in Dharamshala from September 29 to October 2. But the continuous rainfall in the hill city has forced the BCCI to shift the game to another venue.
The heavy rainfall has badly affected the outfield and created concerns about the ground's condition. With the venue not considered ready to host the four-day game, the match has been shifted to Mohali to make sure the fixture can go ahead as planned.
Now, the four-day match between India A Women and Australia A Women's tournament will take place from September 29 to October 2 at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
BCCI confirms Mohali as the venue for IND-W vs AUS-W game
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that the decision was taken because of the impact of prolonged rainfall on Dharamsala's outfield and the prevailing ground conditions.
The BCCI said in an official media release on Wednesday, "The multi-day fixture between India A Women and Australia A Women, scheduled to be played from September 29 to October 2, 2026, has been shifted from Dharamshala to Mohali.
The venue change has been necessitated due to the impact of prolonged rainfall in Dharamshala on the outfield and the prevailing ground conditions. The fixture will now be played at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali from September 29 to October 2, 2026.”

The CM Vijay posted on X: “I extend my heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to the Indian women's team, who have achieved a historic feat by winning the gold medal in the women's cricket category at the 20th Asian Games currently taking place in Japan, and to the sportswoman Kamalini from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, who is a member of that team.
Appreciating the great achievement of cricketer Kamalini, on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu, a prestigious cash award of Rs.75 lakhs will be given. The Government of Tamil Nadu will always stand as firm support for all talented sportspersons like her. This victory of Kamalini will provide new inspiration and confidence to the youth and women of Tamil Nadu. I wish her many more achievements!”
