Dhruv Shorey recently requested the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to switch teams ahead of the season. The right-handed batter expressed displeasure with his limited opportunities in white-ball cricket with Delhi.

Delhi Labelled Dhruv Shorey As A Red Ball Specialist – Report
According to a report from News18 CricketNext, Dhruv Shorey has not been contacted by DDCA members even 24 hours after he requested a NOC from the state board.
“Dhruv applied for a NOC and there were statements going around that association will try and convince him to stay back but no one has reached out yet. Any which way, he has made up his mind and wants to play three formats which Vidarbha want him to play for them,” says a source close to the classy batter.
The report mentioned that he expressed his desire to evolve into an all-format player, but the board labelled him as a red ball specialist.
“It’s difficult to change perceptions and I think Delhi labelled him as a top-order red ball specialist and kept moving him in and out of the white ball teams.
“After serving the state for so long and even leading them, it became a matter of respect for him too. There was never a proper dialogue with one of the most senior players in the set-up,” adds the source.
The 31-year-old has been consistent for the Delhi team in red-ball cricket. He scored 3841 runs in 52 first-class matches with an impressive average of 54.87. He also scored 1945 runs in 60 List A matches with an average of 36.01 and accumulated 866 runs in 37 T20 innings.
