"Dil Toot Gaya" - Twitter Reacts As Australia Break 1.4 Billion Hearts By Beating India In World Cup Final

Fans on X reacted after the India National Cricket Team suffered another disappointing loss in the ICC tournament. They faced a 6-wicket thrashing at the hands of Australia in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Pat Cummins-led side silenced over 1 lakh fans in the stadium and lifted their 6th World Cup title.

India were put into the bat first and they didn’t have a great outing with the bat at all. Rohit Sharma (47) started well but he perished on the cusp of his half-century. He gave his team a magnificent start despite Shubman Gill (4) perishing early. At one stage India was 80/1 but in no time, they were left tottering at 81/3 with Shreyas Iyer (4) back in the hut too.

Virat Kohli (54) and KL Rahul (66) hit vital centuries that kept India in the hut. But they too lost their wickets at crucial junctures. A crucial contribution from Suryakumar Yadav (18) powered India to a total of 240 runs. For Australia, Mitchell Starc picked three wickets whereas Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins bagged two scalps each. 

India started pretty well with the ball as they left Australia tottering at 47/3 with David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, and Steve Smith back early. However, after that Travis Head (137) and Marnus Labuschagne (58*) took the game away from India with their staggering 192-run partnership. 

Travis Head smashed Indian bowlers all over the park and made them look clueless. Glenn Maxwell in the end hit the winning runs as Australia bagged their 6th World Cup title in the history of the game. For India, Jasprit Bumrah picked two wickets whereas Mohammed Shami picked one wicket.
