Dinesh Karthik has disclosed that Ravi Shastri, the Former coach of the Indian men’s cricket team, was not like two characteristics in his players.

In Australia, the Indian side won back-to-back Test series under Shastri’s leadership, and they also advanced to the first-ever Test Championship final. During his tenure as coach, he also brought about a change in the team’s mentality.

Karthik claimed that Shastri had very little patience for players who refused to bat at a certain speed that he did not like or who performed differently in a match than they did on the net in an interview with Cricbuzz’s documentary series Summer Stalemate, as reported by Hindustan Times.

“He had a very low tolerance for anyone who would not bat at a certain pace he did not like, or who did things differently in the nets than he did in the match. That would not go down well with him. Shastri knew exactly what he wanted from his team and how he wanted it to play, but he had a low tolerance for failure. He was always pushing people to do their best “Dinesh Karthik stated.

Dinesh Karthik continued by saying that Shastri demonstrated his coaching talent and performed much above expectations. The former coach, according to Karthik, was a larger-than-life character who constantly pushed the players to accomplish extraordinary things while he held the position.

“I believe Shastri was a player who, while perhaps not as gifted, used his skills as a coach to great effect. He performed significantly better than was anticipated. He was an enormously charismatic coach. He was an individual who encouraged players to explore and do unique things, “said Karthik.
