In a recent development, former Indian cricketer Dinesh Mongia is set to take up a new assignment in his coaching career. Mongia has been appointed head coach of the Goa Cricket Association's senior men's team. Former Indian cricketer J.P. Yadav will serve as the head coach for the U-23 team for the state.

Dinesh Mongia played 57 ODIs and one T20I for India. Mongia scored 1,230 runs in ODIs and 38 runs in T20Is. He was part of the team that shared the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy with Sri Lanka. The former Indian batter was also a member of the squad that finished as runners-up in the 2003 ODI World Cup.

The 47-year-old former cricketer last played for India in an ODI against Bangladesh in May 2007. The former left-handed batter scored over 8,000 runs in first-class cricket at an average close to 50, with a highest score of 308. He has coaching experience, having been the head coach of Odisha last season.

JP Yadav will succeed Swapnil Asnodkar as the U-23 coach for Goa. Yadav is expected to provide valuable guidance to the state's emerging talent with his background as a coach with Railways.

Rohan Kadam Set To Play For Goa In Next Season

As per Sportstar, the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) will retain Arjun Tendulkar, KV Siddharth, and Rohan Kadam as professional players. Tendulkar and Siddharth were part of the Goa team in the previous season, and Rohan has moved from Karnataka to Goa. Rahul Tripathi returned to Maharashtra.

Rohan Kadam obtained a No Objection Certificate from Karnataka last season to join Goa. However, Rohan missed last season due to Rahul Tripathi's signing. KV Siddharth scored 467 runs in the Ranji Trophy last season, and he will be hoping to continue his strong performance in the upcoming season.

Mandeep Singh To Represent Tripura In Upcoming Season

Mandeep Singh, who led Punjab to victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last season, is set to join Tripura. Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) president Amarjeet Singh Mehta acknowledged Mandeep's move as a significant loss but supports his decision.

“We have received his application for NOC. It’s definitely a big loss for Punjab cricket, but if a player wants to move elsewhere for better prospects, why should we stop?” PCA president Amarjeet Singh Mehta told Sportstar.

Jiwanjot Singh moved to Uttarakhand after a long tenure with Punjab. Mandeep Singh was a long-time captain for Punjab, and he has had a notable 14-year career. Mandeep has played 99 first-class and 131 List-A matches.

The Tripura Cricket Association has signed Jiwanjot Singh and Mandeep Singh after Wriddhiman Saha and Sudip Chatterjee rejoined Bengal. They are currently searching for a wicketkeeper-batter. Jiwanjot played for Uttarakhand last season.
