Doctor reveals if Tamim Iqbal will ever play cricket after being discharged from hospital

Former Bangladesh National Cricket Team skipper Tamim Iqbal has been discharged from Evercare Hospital in Dhaka after suffering a severe heart attack during a domestic cricket match. The doctors mentioned that the left-hander is progressing well but needs to follow rehabilitation well.
In what was a shocking development, former Bangladesh National Cricket Team skipper Tamim Iqbal faced a massive heart attack while playing in domestic cricket. The batter was playing for Mohammedan Sporting Club against Shinepukur Cricket Club in the Dhaka Premier League when he experienced pain in the left side of his chest.
Tamim Iqbal underwent a successful angiogram procedure
Tamim Iqbal didn't look in good shape, and the physios took him to the hospital as he was rushed immediately there. Upon reaching the hospital, it was reported that the former skipper of the team had a blockage in one of the arteries of his heart, which is why he faced an attack.
Tamim Iqbal then underwent a successful angiogram procedure and the stent was placed in his heart. Following that, he progressed well in the first 24 hours, which was crucial. However, after staying for a few days in the hospital, he was discharged on Friday (28th March).
After he faced the heart attack, it sent a panic across the country. The officials of the Bangladesh Cricket Board rushed to the hospital. While players of the team in Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and spinner Taijul Islam also came to the hospital to see the former national team opener.

Dr Shahabuddin Talukder provided a health update about Tamim Iqbal, saying that after monitoring his condition, they decided to discharge the batter. The doctor also strictly mentioned that the former Bangladesh captain needs to make lifestyle changes to aid his recovery.
"After monitoring his condition, we have decided to discharge him today. We hope he will be able to return to cricket soon," Dr Shahabuddin Talukder informed the press on Friday. "However, he must follow a strict rehabilitation programme and make lifestyle changes to aid his recovery."

Bangladesh's health ministry official, Abu Zafar, also shared an update about Tamim Iqbal. He said that if everything goes well, the left-hander can return to action after three months. He also stressed that the batter should stay away from smoking.
"If everything progresses well, he can return after that period," Zafar said. "He must stay away from it and strictly adhere to medical advice," he added.
Tamim Iqbal announced his retirement from international cricket in January this year. He played 70 Tests and 243 ODIs, scoring 5,134 runs and 8,357 runs, respectively, for Bangladesh. He has also accumulated 1,758 runs in 78 T20Is.
