Venkatesh Iyer struggled with his timing right from the start and couldn't hit the gaps. He looked in torrid touch, and this put pressure on the skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who ultimately ended up losing his wicket by trying to play an uncharacteristic shot.

Venkatesh Iyer, in particular, struggled against the spinners of the Gujarat Titans. He failed to rotate the strike and ended up giving his wicket to Sai Kishore in the 12th over of the innings as he attempted to break the shackles.

Venkatesh Iyer ended with an innings of 14 runs off 19 balls. He had a strike rate of just 73 and also failed to hit a single boundary during his innings. With his wicket, Kolkata Knight Riders lost their third wicket and were left reeling at 84 for three.
