Young Mumbai Indians pacer Anshul Kamboj came up with a gigantic effort with the ball for India C in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 game against India B. The game between the two teams is taking place at the Rural Development Trust Stadium B in Anantapur.

In what has been a flat track, Anshul Kamboj came up with a brilliant effort and ensured that he put his team in the top position. After India C posted a massive total of 525 runs on the board, it was expected that India B would also come up with a similar effort, especially with the pitch being good for batting.

But the show by Anshul Kamboj stole the limelight, and the pacer made sure he made the most out of it. The right-hander wreaked havoc across the India B batting lineup as he picked wickets in a flash and then made a mockery of the opposition with his pace bowling.

Anshul trapped Mumbai brothers Sarfaraz Khan (16) and Musheer Khan (1) after removing N Jagadeesan (70). After that, the lanky pacer went on to remove Rinku Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy to complete the five-wicket haul on Day 3 of the ongoing game in Anantapur.

On Day 4, Anshul made sure that he continued his fine form as he wrapped up the tailenders in a flash. The Mumbai Indians fast bowler went on to remove Rahul Chahar, Navdeep Saini, and Mukesh Kumar to complete an eight-wicket haul in the innings and help his team get to the top.

Based on the sensational effort by Anshul, India C bundled out India B for just 332 runs and took a lead of 218 runs on the board. His spell surely put his team in the winning position as they now would be looking to seal the game and bag important points.

Anshul Kamboj returned with the figures of 8/69, and it was his maiden five-wicket haul in first-class cricket. It was a complete one-man show. Along with with Vyshak Vijaykumar and Mayank Markande picked one wicket each for their team in the game.

Anshul Kamboj became the only third pacer in the history of the Duleep Trophy to record eight wickets in an innings

With his 8-wicket haul, Anshul Kamboj became the only third pacer in the history of the Duleep Trophy to record eight wickets in an innings. He joined the likes of Debasis Mohanty (10/46) and Ashok Dinda (8/123) in the elite list of Indian domestic cricket.

Anshul Kamboj, ahead of his game, had not recorded more than three wickets in an innings in his previous 14 First-Class matches. He recently made a name for himself in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he was among the leading wicket-takers, taking 17 scalps from 10 matches.

With him delivering such kind of performance for the team in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024, he surely would have grabbed the eyeball of selectors.
