Opening batter Pratham Singh scored a magnificent hundred during India A's second innings of the match between India A and India D at Anantapur. It was Pratham's maiden hundred in the Duleep Trophy and he reached it in style.

The left-handed opener reached his century with a flurry of boundaries off fast bowler Vidwath Kaverappa. When Pratham was on 88, he pulled a short-of-a-length ball by Kaverappa over the midwicket boundary for a stunning six.

The next ball was a juicy full toss on off stump and Pratham Singh made full use of it and thrashed it through the covers for a four between covers and mid-off. On 98, he received another short of a length ball on the pads and he smashed it towards the midwicket fence for a four to complete a brilliant hundred.

Saurabh Kumar gets the wicket of Pratham Singh

Pratham was dismissed by the left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar for 122 off 189 balls, which included 12 fours and 1 six. On the back of his magnificent hundred, India A further solidified its position in the match.

Shams Mulani shines with the bat

In the first innings, Pratham Singh was dismissed for just 7 but made amends for it in the second innings. India A started their innings poorly in the first innings and were on the brink of getting all out for a low score. They were 93-5 at one stage but scored 290 on the back of brilliant half-centuries from lower-order batters like Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian.

In reply, India D were all out for just 183, thus giving India A a massive first-innings lead of 107 runs. Apart from Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 92 off 124 balls, no other India D batter could get to a significant score. Khaleel Ahmed and Aaqib Khan picked up three wickets each for India A while Prasidh Krishna also picked up a wicket on his return to first-class cricket.
