England’s veteran pacer Stuart Broad said that they are motivated to win the fifth and final Test and level the ongoing Ashes series against Australia. Stuart Broad described this Ashes series as one of the most enjoyable and entertaining series he has played in.

England are currently trailing 2-1 in the five-match series. The hosts started the series on a poor note by losing the first two games. However, they bounced back to win the third match and were on the verge of winning the fourth Test, but it ended in a draw due to rain.

Speaking to Sky Sports before the start of play on Day 1, Stuart Broad expressed disappointment over the way the last match finished, highlighting that they dominated the opposition for the first three days.

“Yeah, definitely. We’d love coming to the Oval. It’s a fantastic place to play. Obviously, very disappointing weekend in the way that series finished. I think we played a brilliant first three days there,” Broad told Sky Sports.

“So we’re hugely motivated to make the Ashes series 2-2. It’s been one of the most enjoyable and entertaining series I’ve played in and we’ll look to continue that style this week,” he added.

The Ben Stokes-led team is currently taking on Australia in the final match at the Oval in London. The visitors won the toss and asked the England team to bat first in the Ashes finale.

I Really Enjoyed Bowling At The Oval – Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad expressed delight to be part of every Test match in the English summer, stating that he did his job as a bowler for the team.

“I set a target at the start of the summer to just be available and fit for every game. I didn’t think, at any stage, I’d play all of them. They’ve come thick and fast, but I felt in a really good rhythm.

“I feel like I’ve done most of the job for the team, and whenever Stokes required me. We bowled pretty well as a unit”.

“I really enjoyed bowling at The Oval as well. It’s somewhere you can bring the edge of the bat into play, particularly with the new ball. I’ve sort of achieved my personal goal of being available for the captain. I’m absolutely delighted that I’ve had the opportunity to play all of them,” he concluded.

The 37-year-old is the current leading wicket-taker of the Ashes series, taking 18 wickets in four Tests with an average of 28.56. Australian skipper Pat Cummins is second on the list with 16 wickets to his name.
