ENG vs AUS: Not Interested! James Anderson Has No Intention Of Retiring

England pacer James Anderson has said that he has no interest in retiring from international cricket soon. James Anderson said that he has still got a lot of offers from the England national team.
The right-arm pacer will turn 41 years old soon. While Anderson has always been a dominating pacer in almost series for the last few years, he has struggled in Ashes 2023. The right-arm pacer has grabbed just 5 wickets in 4 Tests of Ashes 2023 so far.
I Have Got No Interest In Retirement: James Anderson
While speaking on BBC’s Test Match Special, James Anderson shed light on his retirement plans. The right-arm seamer said that in the past few years, he has bowled well and has a good control over his bowling.
“As soon as you get into your 30s as a bowler, people are asking how long you’ve got left. But in the past three or four years, I’ve bowled as well as I ever have. I feel like I’ve been in so much control, my body has been in a good place, my skills are as good as they ever have been,” Anderson said.
Anderson also said that he has got no interest in retiring anytime soon. He also said he has a lot to give to the England team.
“In terms of retirement, I’ve got no interest in going any time soon. I feel like I’ve got a lot more to give. I don’t feel like I’m bowling badly or losing pace or that I’m on the way out. I still feel I can offer a lot to this team,” said Anderson, who is the leading wicket-taker for England in international cricket.

James Anderson has grabbed 5 wickets in 7 innings across 4 games of Ashes 2023. He has got one more inning to increase his wickets tally in the series. Earlier, after getting just 3 wickets in the opening two encounters, he was dropped from the playing XI in 3rd Test at Headingley.

However, he was picked again in the 4th and 5th Tests. In comparison, his teammate Stuart Broad accounts for 20 scalps in Ashes 2023. Meanwhile, Australia leads by 12 runs in AUS vs ENG 5th Test of Ashes 2023. Against England’s 1st innings total of 283-10, Australia piled up 295-10 on the board to have an edge. Australia leads the series 2-1 after four Tests.
