The incident occurred on the final over of the day. Marnus Labuschagne cheekily dragged his bat inside the crease and lingered a bit longer while looking directly at Jonny Bairstow, who had the ball in his hands. Anderson appeared to suggest “We don’t do that” as they crossed paths.
Cricket journalist Bharat Sundaresan tweeted about an intriguing exchange between Marnus Labuschagne and James Anderson after the day’s play.
“Marnus kept dragging his bat within the crease while looking at Jonny Bairstow who had the ball in his hands. Anderson seemed to suggest ‘we don’t do that’ as they crossed paths,” Bharat tweeted.
