England pacer Reece Topley has to be one of the unluckiest cricketers in the world. The fast bowler was injured yet again and had to leave the field during the ongoing match 20 of the ICC World Cup 2023 against South Africa at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
England won the toss against South Africa and opted to field first. Reece Topley took the new ball and was exceptional as he extracted the swing off the surface. He troubled the Proteas batter with the new ball and put pressure on them.
However, in the midst of his spell, he got injured. During the third ball of the 7th over, Reece Topley bowled a full delivery to Rassie van der Dussen. The batter played the drive back to the bowler, who got to his hand to it. The ball flicked one of his nails while he tried to stop that and hurt his left hand.
After that Reece Topley bowled two deliveries but didn’t look comfortable. He looked in pain even after getting treatment from physios. The pacer then had to leave the field and he was gutted with himself as was walking back to the dressing room.
Reece Topley yelled in frustration and smashed a chair on his way back up. After going inside the dressing room, he yet again vented in anger as he smashed objects inside as well.

ENG vs SA: Reece Topley Removes Quinton de Kock to take England off the flier in Mumbai
Reece Topley took England off the flyer in the game against South Africa. The fast bowler sent in form Quinton de Kock packing on the second ball of the game. The left-arm pacer bowled a delivery full outside off that shaped away slightly.
Quinton de Kock went for the drive and managed an outside edge. The ball was easily pouched by Jos Buttler. The keeper-batter went back for 4 runs. After that, nothing has gone in England’s way as Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen have taken bowlers to the cleaners and have smashed runs at a quick rate.
