Smriti Mandhana and Shree Charani shine in India's historic win in the first T20I
Meanwhile, India put on a dominating all-round performance to thrash England by 97 runs in the first T20I. Batting first, India posted a huge total of 210 runs, thanks to captain Smriti Mandhana’s stunning century at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
The hosts’ chase got off to a poor start as they lost opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge for a duck. However, their captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt, tried to fight back with a steady knock of 66 runs off 42 balls, but the rest of the English lineup collapsed under pressure, struggling badly against India’s spin attack.

The debutant Shree Charani was the star with the ball, picking up four wickets while giving away only 12 runs in her 3.5 overs. Mandhana’s smart bowling changes and Richa Ghosh’s brilliance behind the stumps, taking three catches and one sharp stumping, didn’t allow the hosts to make a comeback.
The English team was bowled out for just 113 runs within 15 overs as India's women won the game by 97 runs. This defeat is now England’s biggest loss by runs in women's T20I history.

Meanwhile, Shree Charani made a dream start to her international career by becoming only the second Indian bowler to take four wickets on her Women’s T20I debut. Earlier, Sravanthi Naidu achieved this feat by picking up 4 for 9 against Bangladesh Women in Cox’s Bazar back in 2014.
In the first T20I, the captains Smriti Mandhana and Nat Sciver-Brunt had a brilliant day with the bat, scoring a combined total of 178 runs. This is now the second-highest total between captains in a Women’s T20I involving at least one full-member team.
