The 25-year-old England Women’s National Cricket Team batting all-rounder Emma Lamb has been ruled out of the upcoming one-off Test match against India Women’s National Cricket Team, confirmed the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Friday, December 8.

Emma Lamb, who has played 2 Test matches, 11 ODI matches, and 1 T20I match for the England Women’s National Cricket Team, has suffered a back problem and has been forced to withdraw her name from the series.

Emma Lamb has already returned to the United Kingdom where she is set to see a spinal surgeon to determine the next steps to cure her back problem.

To deal with the absence of Emma Lamb, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), has added two players to the squad. As a replacement for Emma, Maia Bouchier has been called up and the board has also decided to add Kirstie Gordon to the Test squad.

The middle-order batter Maia Bouchier is yet to represent England Women’s National Cricket Team in Test cricket while Gordon has played one Test match in her career.
