The England and Wales Cricket Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that the Men’s Assistant Coach Graham Thorpe has left his position.

The England assistant coach Graham Thorpe became the third victim of the Ashes 2021-22 humiliation. As this news comes after England’s managing director Ashley Giles and men’s team head coach Chris Silverwood were removed from their positions.

Notably, major changes have been made in England’s set-up after the terrible performance of the team in the Ashes 2021-22 against Australia.

The Joe Root-led England lost the Ashes 2021-22 by 0-4 against Australia. England lost the first match by 9 wickets at the Gabba, the second game by 275 runs at the Adelaide Oval and the third game by an innings and 14 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. However, England managed to avoid the whitewash with a hard-fought draw in the fourth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground but they lost the last match of the series by 146 runs at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart.

In an official statement released by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Thorpe said that he has been fortunate enough to work with several good players and coaches during his stint as England’s assistant coach.

“I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with so many good players and coaches who I consider my friends for life,” said Graham Thorpe.

Meanwhile, Interim Managing Director of England Men’s Cricket Andrew Strauss thanked Graham Thorpe for his contributions over the years.

“I’d like to thank Graham for his work over many years on the England coaching staff and wish him the best for the future,” said Andrew Strauss, Interim Managing Director, England Men’s Cricket.

Also, the arrangements for the upcoming England tour of the West Indies will be soon announced by the board. Notably, England National Cricket Team are set to tour West Indies for the three-match Test series, which is set to begin on March 08, Tuesday at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound in Antigua.
