England Playing 11 vs West Indies- 2nd ODI, West Indies tour of England 2025:

Openers: Jamie Smith, Ben Duckett

ENG's new batting sensation Jaimie Smith will take one of the opening slots along with Ben Duckett in the next game to be played in Cardiff.

The pair has started the reboot under captain Harry Brook in an attacking manner as they both aggressively scored quick runs and stitched a 50-plus partnership for the opening wicket.

Smith and Duckett are known for their aggressive batting approach at the top of the order and will look to replicate the same in the upcoming game.

Duckett has been in tremendous form for ENG and has been scoring runs consistently in ODIs and Tests.

Smith, on the other hand, has had a great start to international cricket and has impressed the experts in a short period.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Joe Root, Harry Brook (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Jacob Bethell, Will Jacks

The opening combination will be followed by an in-form batting lineup with the likes of Joe Root, Harry Brook, and Jacob Bethell taking charge to score runs at a rapid rate, which is what England is known for.

The lower middle order is taken care of by Will Jacks and Jamie Overton, both of whom can score handy runs with the bat.

Jacks is a top-order batter who is batting at number seven in England's current batting lineup.

Having said that, the top six batters will once again have to take the responsibility of scoring the bulk of the runs for England.

Bowlers: Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse, Adil Rashid, Saqib Mahmood

ENG will be elated by the way a fairly new-look bowling attack bowled, with the likes of experienced bowlers in the form of Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes not a part of the ongoing ODI series.

The duo of Saqib Mahmood and Brydon Carse broke the back of the West Indies run chase with early strikes

Mahmood was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up three wickets and rattled the West Indies top order with some accurate bowling.

Mahmood and Carse were well supported by Jamie Overton, who cleaned up the tail after sustaining an injury to his bowling hand

The fast bowling department will have to once again take responsibility for themselves in the absence of a fourth fast bowling option who can be relied upon to bowl a few overs when the need arises.

ENG are expected to go in the next match again with a lone specialist spinner, Adil Rashid, who will be supported by Bethell and Jacks.
