The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the white-ball squads for the upcoming tour of Ireland.

Kate Cross will lead the English women's national cricket team in three One Day Internationals and two T20I matches, which are scheduled to take place in Ireland next month.

The three-match ODI series between the Ireland Women and English Women will commence on Saturday, September 7, in Belfast.

The second ODI is scheduled to be played at the same venue on September 9. The teams will meet again for the final ODI at the same venue on September 11.

Bowler Mahika Gaur is included in the T20 squad after recovering from a side strain that kept her out of the home series against New Zealand, The Hundred, and most of the domestic season. All-rounder Mady Villiers has returned to the English women’s squad for the first time since 2021.

The ODI squad also features all-rounder Freya Kemp, wicketkeeper-batter Bess Heath, fast bowler Lauren Filer, and opener Emma Lamb. Seren Smale, who has represented England at various youth levels, may make her senior international debut after being included in the England T20 squad.

Hannah Baker, Georgia Davis (ODI only), and Charis Pavely (T20 only) are among the players who might make their senior international debuts. Ryana MacDonald-Gay, Paige Scholfield, and Georgia Adams also have the opportunity to debut. All have previously represented England at various levels.

Jon Lewis will serve as head coach of the English women's cricket team. Lewis has been leading England A for the past year.

He will be joined by Courtney Winfield-Hill and Chris Liddle, who recently worked with Trent Rockets and London Spirit in the Women’s Hundred 2024 season.

The Squad Has An Exciting Mix Of Experienced International Players - Jonathan Finch

Jonathan Finch, Director of Women’s Cricket, highlighted that the squad features a blend of seasoned international players and newcomers. Finch noted that the squad includes many players who have developed through a robust domestic cricket system.

“Following a busy period we are looking forward to finishing off our summer with the tour to Ireland," Finch said.

“The squad has an exciting mix of experienced international players, those that are returning to a squad having played previously and those yet to take their first steps on the international stage. This is a strong squad made up of many players that have grown from being part of a strengthening domestic game."
