Former India cricketer S Badrinath mocked Pakistan after their heavy defeat against India in the Women's Asia Cup 2026. After Pakistan suffered a major batting collapse in Dubai, Badrinath joked that mobile cricket games should remove the India vs Pakistan fixture because of the one-sided results.
India, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, bowled Fatima Sana's Pakistan out for just 55 in 18.1 overs, their lowest total in Women's T20Is. India then chased down the 56-run target in 8.4 overs to seal a seven-wicket win. The Women in Blue finished the group stage unbeaten and secured their place in the Asia Cup semifinals.

S Badrinath took a dig at Pakistan after their batting collapse against India in the Women's Asia Cup 2026. He joked that the India vs Pakistan fixture should be removed from mobile cricket games because the matches have become too one-sided.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat but struggled against India's spin attack. Shawaal Zulfiqar and Muneeba Ali added 27 runs for the opening wicket, but Pakistan lost their final 10 wickets for 28 runs. Gull Feroza, Fatima Sana, and Nashra Sandhu failed to open their accounts.
Sree Charani Leads India’s Spin Dominance
Sree Charani led India's bowling attack with three wickets for just seven runs in four overs. The left-arm spinner, who is ranked No. 1 in the T20I bowling rankings, has taken 32 wickets in 18 innings in 2026 at an economy rate of 6.71.
Prema Rawat also claimed three wickets, conceding only nine runs in her four overs. Deepti Sharma picked up two wickets for five runs in 3.1 overs, while Shafali Verma took one wicket. India's spinners made excellent use of the grip and turn on offer to keep Pakistan's batters under constant pressure.
Pakistan reached 27/0 before Shafali dismissed Muneeba, triggering a dramatic collapse. Charani then struck twice in the final over of the powerplay. Pakistan collapsed to 35/6 before the lower order offered little resistance. India bowled them out for 55 in 18.1 overs.
Fatima Sana later gave Pakistan some hope in the chase. She dismissed Shafali, Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana to reduce India to 29/3. However, Harmanpreet Kaur (18*) and Deepti Sharma (12*) remained unbeaten to take India to 57/3 in 8.4 overs.
Harmanpreet Kaur Reaches Major T20I Captaincy Milestone
Harmanpreet Kaur captained India in her 150th T20I. She became the first cricketer, male or female, to lead a national side in 150 T20Is. The match also continued the recent India-Pakistan handshake trend.
Harmanpreet and Fatima did not exchange handshakes or make eye contact during the toss. The two teams also walked in separate directions after the national anthems instead of exchanging the usual greetings.
India's men's team avoided handshakes with Pakistan during the men's Asia Cup in September 2025 following the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. Captain Suryakumar Yadav dedicated one of the victories to the Indian armed forces and the victims of the attack.
