Former India cricketer Nikhil Chopra has revealed the plan through which India can retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
India will play a five-match Test series against Australia and it will be a huge challenge for the Men in Blue.
BGT 2024-25 will be extremely important for India
This Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be extremely important for India given their chances of qualifying for the World Test Championship (WTC) final next year in June. India's recent defeat to New Zealand in a three-match Test series has dented of making it to their third consecutive WTC final.
The Men in Blue need to win four out of the five Tests in Australia to confirm a spot in the WTC final without relying on the other results. India have a good record in Australia on their last two Test tours but winning by such a margin will be highly difficult for this team.

Nikhil Chopra reveals how India can topple Australia in BGT 2024-25
While speaking to ANI, Nikhil Chopra revealed that India need to concentrate on executing their plans in order to become victorious. He claimed that it is all about winning sessions in Test cricket as opposed to T20Is, where you need to win every ball. Nikhil Chopra further insisted on having a good preparation for the series.
"Challenge is everywhere but we need to execute the planning that we make. It's either T20I or Test, you just have to win. In Tests, you have to win every session and in T20Is you have to win each and every ball in the game," Nikhil Chopra said.
"It's all about preparation because there are fewer chances to come back after making mistakes in T20Is," he added.
India's recent record against Australia in Tests
India have come out victorious on the last four occasions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with an identical margin of 2-1. Two of those series were played in Australia while two were played in India.
Over the years, India have been more dominant in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy than Australia. India have won the trophy on 10 occasions while Australia have won five times. Australia's previous series win in India was way back in 2004-05.
On the other hand, India have stunned Australia in their last two Test series in Australia, winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on both occasions. In 2018-19, India became the first Asian team to beat Australia in a Test series ever.
In 2020-21, India registered a stunning win after being defeated in the first Test of the series. Despite suffering several injuries throughout the course of the series, a young Indian team showed its resilience to overcome a solid Australian challenge.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 will begin on November 22 in Perth. The second Test of the series will be played in Adelaide and it will be the only day-night Test of the series.
Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney will host the last three Tests of the series. Melbourne will host the Boxing Day Test while Sydney will host the New Year's Test.
