India Women's National Cricket Team got a commanding win over the Pakistan Women's National Cricket Team. India had to score only 56 runs to register their third straight win in the ongoing Women's Asia Cup, and they did that in style. Opener Shafali Verma played a crucial role with his bat behind the one-sided match.

Former Pakistan men's cricket team player Tanveer Ahmed, during a discussion, explained how Shafali Verma played a key role in India's swift win against the Fatima Sana-led team on September 5 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The former cricketer noted that Varma adopted the Indian men's cricket team's mentality in his game.

Pakistan dismissed for only 55 runs vs India

The batting collapse was the biggest setback for the Pakistan Women's team in the match. They were bowled out for only 55 runs, losing nine batters against the spinners. It was Fatima Sana who won the toss and elected to bat first. So the toss went in favour of Pakistan, but due to their poor batting, they never looked in a position to compete with India.

Shafali Verma started the run chase with a six on the very first ball of the innings. In her international career, Verma hit a six on the first ball of the first over of an innings. In women's T20 internationals, Verma is the only batter to get the achivement.

Tanveer Ahmed impresses with Shafali Verma

With the win against Pakistan, the Indian women's cricket team remains undefeated in the Women's Asia Cup 2026. In the group stage of the tournament, they have won all three matches so far they have played.

Tanveer Ahmed was impressed with the mentality of Shafali Verma and the Indian cricket team. The way Verma walked into the ground with the mentality to rule the opposition team out completely from the equation was impressive to the former Pakistan cricketer.

In his explanation, Tanveer expressed that Shafali's aggressive intention perfectly fits with the Indian men's national cricket team. Through the batting of the Indian women's cricket team opener, the former cricketer related the batting mentality of the Indian men's team's batters Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma; both of them are known for batting with a high strike rate.

"When Shafali Verma opened, you saw that she hit a six on the first ball; I think she hit a six on the first ball. Look at this, the way they are playing, they are trying to bring their men's mentality into women's as well. So that we get an opener like (Vaibhav) Suryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma here as well," Tanveer Ahmed said.

"Their mentality is diverting here as well. Obviously, it will happen. The way your men's team will play cricket, the same country's women's team will follow them and play the same cricket. Cricket. If they get married there, they will get married in women's as well," he added.
