Mohammad Amir will reportedly feature as an overseas player in the Pakistan Super League 2027 after officially receiving British citizenship. The experienced left-arm pacer recently obtained his UK passport, and he might enter future PSL drafts as a foreign player instead of a local Pakistani player.
Amir is currently representing the Trent Rockets in The Hundred 2026 as a local player because of his British passport. He joined the squad as a replacement for the injured David Payne and became eligible as a domestic player after retiring from international cricket following the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Amir retired from international cricket in 2020 before returning ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup. He retired again after the tournament, having played his final international match against Ireland. Amir featured in 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 62 T20Is, taking 271 wickets at an average of 27.98.
