Veteran South African batsman, Faf du Plessis has been hospitalized after suffering an on-field collision with his Quetta Gladiators teammate, Mohammad Hasnain on the field in match 19 of PSL 2021. Quetta Gladiators took on Peshawar Zalmi at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

After winning the toss, Quetta decided to field first. Peshawar Zalmi had a terrible start to the game as their opener, Haider Ali, was dismissed on the first ball of the game. However, Kamran Akmal, the veteran Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman, steadied the Peshawar ship and played a quickfire knock of 59 runs off 37b balls.

Shoaib Malik, on the other hand, failed miserably as he departed for only 2 runs. However, David Miller, the Proteas all-rounder, proved to be the difference-maker as he came up with a scintillating knock of 73 runs in just 46 deliveries to help Peshawar finish on a very strong total of 197-5 in their 20 overs.

Quetta Gladiators Desperately Need A Win

Quetta Gladiators desperately need a win against Peshawar Zalmi to remain in the competition. If they lose the game against Peshawar, the tournament might just be over for them. Currently, they are placed on the absolute bottom of the PSL 2021 points table as they have managed to win just one out of the 6 games played so far.

On the other hand, Peshawar are on the fourth spot in the points table and a win tonight over Quetta might see them assert themselves at the number 2 spot. The final of PSL 2021 will take place on June 29.
