Fakhar Zaman eyeing comeback through Champions Cup T20
The tournament will feature some of the top players of Pakistan, both internationally and domestically. Zaman has a great chance to prove his worth and stake a claim to be back in the team.
He will be eyeing a comeback and can come to the notice of the national selectors with his performances. The board will have an eye on his fitness and form and the tournament will be important for his immediate future.
With the Champions Trophy to be played in just a few months, Fakhar doesn't have much time to make a comeback. He needs to find form and prove his fitness soon in order to be considered in Pakistan's squad for the Champions Trophy.
Fakhar Zaman dropped from Australia tour
Fakhar Zaman was earlier dropped from Pakistan's white-ball teams for the Australia tour as well. The left-handed opener had made some inappropriate comments in support of the team's star batter Babar Azam which didn't go down well with the PCB.
As a result, the board decided to drop him from the team. Not only the disciplinary issues, the PCB also cited Fakhar Zaman's poor fitness concerns as one of the reasons behind his omission.
In his absence, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique shone as openers in Australia. Both the batters produced some scintillating performances to take Pakistan to a historic 2-1 series win in ODIs.
