Pakistan's dynamic opener Fakhar Zaman is all set to make a swift exit from the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2024) due to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Fakhar Zaman was forced to ditch the sun-soaked beaches of the Caribbean for the intense heat of the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, thanks to the PCB’s newly launched tournaments.

PCB pulls Fakhar Zaman from CPL 2024, pushing him to play domestic tournament

The highly anticipated Champions One-Day Cup, Pakistan's premier domestic ODI tournament, is just around the corner, and Fakhar Zaman has been reportedly asked to leave the ongoing CPL 2024 to take part in the upcoming domestic tournament, starting on September 12 in Faisalabad.

Having dazzled the Caribbean crowds with a solid performance for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the ongoing CPL 2024, where Fakhar Zaman smashed 83 runs in just two innings, Zaman's departure leaves his franchise with a gaping hole at the top of the order.

Fakhar Zaman will leave the tournament early to travel to Faisalabad for the upcoming Champions One-Day Cup. He will join one of the five teams before the start of the one-day competition. While Zaman packs his bags, Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan seems to have other plans.

Contrary to the buzz around the Champions One-Day Cup, Khan will reportedly stay in the Caribbean for the remainder of the ongoing CPL 2024, as Fakhar Zaman is unlikely to be picked for the Champions One-Day Cup because of his fitness issues that have been a significant challenge for him.

Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim will continue their pile trading in CPL 2024

Meanwhile, Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim will also remain in the Caribbean for the remainder of the tournament, as they have already hung up their boots in the ODI format. With no ties to the 50-over game, Amir and Imad, much to the delight of their fans and franchises, are free to continue their T20 exploits in this edition of the CPL.

Another notable absence from the ongoing CPL 2024 is the rising star Saim Ayub, who has been busy showcasing his talent in Pakistan's ongoing home Test series against Bangladesh. Having already made a mark with a brilliant fifty in the ongoing series, Ayub has missed out on the CPL action to focus on his red-ball commitments.

Actually, the PCB had not granted Ayub the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the Caribbean League, as he was in Pakistan’s Test plans. He is also likely to take part in the upcoming Champions One-Day Cup, featuring five teams—the Dolphins, Lions, Panthers, Stallions, and Wolves.

Pakistan Legends will mentor players

Adding to the excitement are the legendary mentors like Waqar Younis, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Saqlain Mushtaq guiding the teams in the one-day tournament, with Misbah-ul-Haq steering the Wolves and Shoaib Malik taking charge of the Stallions.

At the moment, the Pakistan team is currently trying to save their pride by winning the second and final Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. They have already lost two wickets for just nine runs in the second innings, taking only 35 runs lead in the match against the Tigers in Rawalpindi.
