Big drama rocked the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final after a shocking heated exchange between Jammu & Kashmir captain Paras Dogra and Karnataka players, including KV Aneesh, in Hubli.
The incident happened on Day 2 of the title clash on Wednesday (February 25), leaving everyone stunned. The Jammu and Kashmir captain, Paras Dogra, was involved in a fiery argument with a number of Karnataka players during the first innings.

At first, Dogra was seen having an animated discussion with Aneesh, who was fielding very close to the bat at silly point. Both players looked serious and tense as they exchanged words. Suddenly, things went out of control, and Dogra headbutted Aneesh, shocking everyone on the field.
Karnataka players and match officials quickly stepped in to control the situation from getting worse in Hubli. Karnataka’s senior batter Mayank Agarwal had an intense talk with Dogra, trying to calm things down. At the same time, Karnataka captain Devdutt Padikkal walked up to the umpire to raise concerns about the incident.
The atmosphere became very tense as match officials managed to get things back on track. The incident took place after the fourth ball of the 101st over. At that time, Dogra was batting along with Kanhaiya Wadhawan. Jammu and Kashmir had already lost four wickets, but they had crossed 300 runs and were in a strong position in the match.
Real reason behind Paras Dogra-KV Aneesh spat revealed
Now, sources from the Jammu and Kashmir camp have revealed the reason behind the ugly moment. The skipper, who had retired hurt on Day 1, resumed his innings at the fall of Abdul Samad's wicket in the 99th over on Day 2.
After that, the bowlers started bowling short balls at him, and the Karnataka fielders also kept teasing and taunting him from the field. It is being said that Aneesh allegedly made personal and abusive comments towards Dogra, even mocking his long career and questioning his ability, according to journalist Mohsin Kamal.

Those remarks by Aneesh crossed the line and triggered an emotional reaction from Dogra. Following the incident, Dogra has been fined 50% of his match fee for breaching the code of conduct.

Meanwhile, after a solid Day 1, Jammu and Kashmir faced trouble in the morning when Karnataka bowlers used swing and bounce very well. Captain Devdutt Padikkal led his team with energy as the pacers created early pressure.
Karnataka got success in the 98th over when Shubham Pundir, who scored a fine 121 with 12 fours and two sixes, was caught at mid-wicket off Vidyadhar Patil. In the next over, Abdul Samad, who made 61, was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna.
At that stage, J&K was under pressure. But Paras Dogra and Kanhaiya Wadhawan played with great calmness and maturity. Following the collapse, they rebuilt the innings nicely. By lunch, Jammu and Kashmir reached 380/4 against the eight-time champions.
At the stumps on Day 2, Jammu and Kashmir's score read 527/6 against Karnataka.
