Yuzvendra Chahal ended his wicket-less run in IPL 2021 with his first wicket of the tournament against Kolkata Knight Riders. The Royal Challengers Bangalore spinner dismissed Nitish Rana in the 7th over when the KKR opener was gaining momentum with his batting.

On Yuzvendra Chahal’s delivery, Rana was caught by Devdutt Padikkal at deep mid-wicket. In Royal Challengers Bangalore’s first two matches in IPL 2021 earlier, Yuvzendra Chahal failed to pick a wicket.

Other than Nitish Rana, Yuzvendra Chahal also dismissed Dinesh Karthik through an LBW. In RCB’s first match against Mumbai Indians, Chahal emerged out to be expensive with 41 runs in 4 overs. He could not manage to grab a wicket although RCB won the match by 2 wickets.

During RCB’s second match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chahal managed to improve his economy by conceding only 29 runs 4 overs but again failed to pick any wicket.

Felt A Bit Emotional: Yuzvendra Chahal

After getting his first wicket in IPL 2021 against KKR, Chahal said that he felt a bit emotional.

“It’s an amazing feeling, when you are bowling well and not getting wickets, sometimes it hurts. But getting that first wicket, I felt a bit emotional,” Yuzvendra Chahal said.

After getting two wickets, Chahal also bowled the 17th over in the match. Andre Russell smashed him for 20 runs in the over. Talking about that over to Russell, Chahal said that he was trying to get him out.

“I was trying to get him out, I wanted to bowl wider because the leg-side boundary was shorter, so after three balls, I changed my field. Their run-rate was over 10, I wanted to bowl more dot balls and just stuck to my plan,” Yuzvendra Chahal added.
