FIR Lodged Against Mitchell Marsh For Keeping Feet On CWC 2023 Trophy: Reports

In what has been the latest development as per the reports it is learned that an FIR has been filed against Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh for keeping his feet on the ICC World Cup 2023 Trophy. The case has been registered by RTI activist Keshav Pandit in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.

RTI activist Keshav Pandit, who is based in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh filed the case against Mitchell Marsh for offending the sentiments of Indian fans. The reports also suggested that activists sent a copy of the complaint to PM Narendra Modi who wants all-rounder to be banned from playing cricket in India.

After Australia won the ICC World Cup 2023, Mitchell Marsh posted a picture on his social media with his legs on the trophy. The picture went viral on social media and it raised quite a few eyebrows. He received a lot of criticism for his picture and many fans even lashed out at him in the comments.

Australia pounded India by 6 wickets in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023. Mitchell Marsh didn’t make an impact in the game as he perished after scoring 15 runs. However, Travis Head slammed a brutal 137 to take his team home along with Marnus Labuschagne (58*). In the chase of 241 runs, Australia were 47/3 but the duo held their nerves well and guided the team home.

I am hurt – Mohammed Shami on Mitchell Marsh’s gesture

Mohammed Shami also shared his verdict on Mitchell Marsh keeping his feet on the ICC World Cup Trophy. He said that they all play for this trophy and you keep this on his head and seeing the picture of an all-rounder didn’t make him happy. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

“I am hurt. The trophy for which all the teams in the world fight, the trophy which you want to keep on your head, keeping a foot on that trophy did not make me happy.”

Mohammed Shami was the leading wicket-taker in the ICC World Cup 2023. He bagged 24 wickets in just seven innings including three fifers.
