Former Rajasthan Royals' Spinner KC Cariappa Files Complaint Against Ex-Girlfriend For Threatening To End Cricket Career

The complaint states that she reportedly issued warnings to Cariappa’s family members, including his father, mother, and elder brother. This development comes almost a year after the woman had previously filed a complaint against the 29-year-old cricketer.

Earlier, on December 31, 2022, Cariappa’s ex-girlfriend complained KC Cariappa with Bagalagunte police. She accused the Karnataka-born cricketer of impregnating her and administering abortion pills against her will in September.

On December 22, Cariappa informed the Bagalagunte police that he had developed a relationship with a woman from Kodagu. He said that he had to terminate the relationship due to her purported involvement in drug use, alcohol consumption, and promiscuity.

KC Cariappa’s Ex-Girlfriend Filed A Counter Complaint – Reports

KC Cariappa’s ex-girlfriend revealed to the Times of India that the cricketer convinced her not to press charges by promising marriage. However, Cariappa’s filed report suggests that he ended the relationship after trying unsuccessfully to persuade her to quit alcohol.

The mystery spinner claimed she threatened to end his cricket career by implicating him in her suicide note. She, unaware of the report, expressed her intention to fight back and filed a counter-complaint against Cariappa at the RT Nagar police station on Saturday.

KL Cariappa Bought By Kolkata Knight Riders For Rs 2.4 crore In 2015 Auction

KC Cariappa gained attention when the Kolkata Knight Riders bid Rs 2.4 crore for him in the 2015 IPL auction, despite having less experience in First-Class or List A. However, he was released from the Kolkata franchise in 2016 after playing only one match for the team.

Released from his contract in 2016, Cariappa was bought by Kings XI Punjab for 80 lakhs. He went unsold in the 2019 IPL auction, but KKR signed him as an injury replacement. Unfortunately, he played just one game in the 2019 edition of the tournament.

Cariappa was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals for 20 lakh INR in the IPL 2021 auction. The spinner didn’t play for the inaugural champions during his time with the franchise. He was released by RR before the IPL 2024 Auction.
