It was a night of records getting broken by the batters in an insane evening of a run-fest at Uppal, Hyderabad. When the skipper Suryakumar Yadav elected to bat first, he wouldn't have thought that his team would end up with this score.

But once the batters got going, they did not stop. All the batters tried to hit every ball for a boundary and hardly cared for their wickets. The flat batting conditions enabled the batters to trust the pitch and they kept on hitting through the line.

The Men in Blue finished with 297-6 in 20 overs. This score is their highest team total in the T20I format. The previous best was 260-5 against Sri Lanka, which they scored in 2017 at Indore. They also smashed a total of 22 sixes in this inning. It is the highest no. of sixes hit by them in an international match.

The Men in Blue got a fantastic start in their innings despite losing the opener Abhishek Sharma early. But Sanju Samson did not allow the scoring rate to go down and made full use of the powerplay restrictions.

Suryakumar Yadav and his men scored 82-1 in the first six overs, which is their joint-highest powerplay score. They scored 82-2 against Scotland in Dubai in the T20 World Cup 2021.

It was a magnificent night for the batters who thoroughly enjoyed the highly favorable batting conditions at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad. Sanju Samson led the way with 111 off 47 balls which included 11 fours and 8 sixes.

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav scored 75 off 35 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes. Hardik Pandya chipped in late with 47 off 18 balls while Riyan Parag scored a fiery 34 off 13 balls.
