Shikhar Dhawan is the first player that the Punjab Kings will retain in their squad for the IPL 2025 auction. The right-handed batsman led the side last season in IPL 2024 but could only play 5 games due to his injury. He mustered 152 runs with 1 half-century.

Although Dhawan doesn't play for the national side, he is still a powerful batsman. In Punjab Kings, he fulfills the role of the skipper as well as the opener. PBKS has already changed many captains in the past but it did not work out for them. Hence, Dhawan will be a good choice.

2. Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh is another member Punjab Kings will retain in their squad for the IPL 2025 auction. He is one of the most crucial members of the Indian team and also won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 under Rohit Sharma.

He has become the poster boy of Punjab Kings over the years as he got a national call-up after his brilliant performance in IPL. Now, he has also cemented his place in T20Is and ODIs. In IPL 2024, the left-arm pacer captured 19 wickets in 14 games at 26+ average and 10+ economy.

1. Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada is the third player that Punjab Kings would like to retain in their squad. The right-arm pacer grabbed 11 wickets in 11 games for the side in IPL 2024. He has been part of the side for quite a few seasons and also played consistently.

The South African pacer is one of the lethal ones in international cricket and also dominates batters from all over the world. Hence, Rabada is another big name in the PBKS squad.
