In good news for Team India, Suryakumar Yadav has recovered from his thumb injury and declared fit to be back on the cricket field. He is likely to feature in the T20I series against Bangladesh. Suryakumar suffered a thumb injury in the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament in Coimbatore while playing for Mumbai.

He had injured his thumb on the right hand while fielding at leg slip. He then went to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to complete his rehabilitation program. The NCA has given him a clean chit to be available for the third round of Duleep Trophy matches.

Suryakumar Yadav declared fit from a finger injury

Suryakumar Yadav will now mark his return from Duleep Trophy's third-round match between India B and India D. The match will be played from September 19 and it will also be the last round of matches in the tournament.

The addition of Suryakumar will further strengthen India B where he will replace Sarfaraz Khan.

Earlier, he was named in the India C squad which is in good form, and is currently first on the points table with 9 points in two matches. India C won their first match against India D by 4 wickets while they earned a first-innings lead in their second-round match against India B to earn crucial points.

Ruturaj Gaikwad is currently the captain of India C. The team that will be at the top of the table after three rounds of matches will be declared as the winner of the tournament with no semi-finals or the final.

Recently, Suryakumar Yadav also posted a picture of himself from Bengaluru to Anantapur in a car which read, "Next stop: Anantapur."

Suryakumar Yadav likely to feature in Bangladesh T20I series

Suryakumar Yadav's return also means that he is likely to be available for India's T20I series against Bangladesh. Surya is currently India's T20I captain and a vital player in the team.

The three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh will be played after the two-match Test series. The three T20Is will be played in Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad on October 6, 9, and 12 respectively.

Shubman Gill rested for T20I series

With no Shubman Gill for the T20Is, Suryakumar's availability is a huge boost as India will not have to search for a new captain now. Gill is India's designated vice-captain in ODIs and T20Is.

“Yes, Shubman (Gill) will be rested for the Bangladesh T20I series. If you look at the fixture, the three T20Is will be played on October 6 (Gwalior), 9 (Delhi), and 12 (Hyderabad). Now the first Test vs New Zealand starts on October 16. So with a turnaround of three days, it is important to give Gill a break,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying by PTI.

Shubman Gill is now India's all-format player which is the reason why his workload is being managed. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav is only in India's T20I team currently but is desperate to make a comeback in the longer formats as well.
