Gautam Gambhir set to be part of Kolkata Knight Riders' IPL 2024 victory celebration despite leaving the team

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are reportedly planning to celebrate their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 victory at the iconic Eden Gardens, nearly two months after winning the trophy. KKR co-owners Shah Rukh Khan and Gautam Gambhir are expected to attend the IPL victory celebration in Kolkata.
The Knight Riders secured their third Indian Premier League title victory after a decade. Shreyas Iyer led the Kolkata-based team to glory in the summit clash against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). Gautam Gambhir previously led the team to victory in 2012 and 2014, and this time he mentored the team to success.

The KKR regained its glory with a long-awaited championship win. However, the celebrations in the city were postponed as several KKR players had traveled to the United States of America for the T20 World Cup 2024. Fans are set to celebrate the IPL victory with the cricketers in Kolkata later this month.
As per Sangbad Pratidin, the Knight Riders are set to celebrate their IPL victory at the Eden Gardens on July 23. Shah Rukh Khan and Gautam Gambhir are expected to attend the event. While all Indian cricketers are likely to be present, it remains uncertain whether foreign cricketers will join the celebration.

Gambhir has a strong bond with the Kolkata Knight Riders and Eden Gardens. He led the KKR franchise to two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. He played a crucial role in guiding the team to their third IPL victory as a mentor in 2024. The 42-year-old reportedly bid farewell to the Knight Riders in Kolkata on Friday.
The Delhi-born cricketer is expected to receive a farewell reception as he steps down from his role as mentor for KKR. Former West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine is currently leading the Los Angeles Knight Riders in the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 in the United States of America.
Neither Can I Dance Nor Can I Sing - Gautam Gambhir
In an interaction with Sportskeeda, Gautam Gambhir joked about Shah Rukh Khan's efforts to get him to dance. Gambhir stated that Shah Rukh couldn't convince him due to his lack of dancing and singing skills. He mentioned that he prefers to watch others dance and enjoy the moment.
"You are asking the wrong person. Neither can I dance, nor can I sing. I can watch others dance and can enjoy it as well, and I did that," Gambhir said.
"Shah Rukh bhai has been very successful in his life and will remain so going ahead. But he was unsuccessful in making me dance, and I don’t think that will change going ahead as well because I just can’t dance and sing," he added.
Gautam Gambhir returned as a mentor to the Kolkata Knight Riders for this year's IPL. The veteran cricketer made changes and balanced experienced players with young talent. His strategic moves, including promoting Sunil Narine in the batting order, helped the team throughout the tournament.
