India head coach Gautam Gambhir, known for his outspoken nature, reacted to rumors of a rift within the team during their previous Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour in Australia. Gautam Gambhir issued a stern warning to Rohit Sharma and the rest of the squad to prevent dressing room leaks in the Champions Trophy.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced a new 10-point policy to enhance discipline, unity, and the overall team environment. Notably, this policy will be enforced from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This move comes in response to reports of a "divided team environment" in Australia.
Gautam Gambhir Warns Rohit Sharma and Other Team India Players
According to a report by RevSportz, Team India gathered at a hotel in Mumbai before heading to Dubai, where Gautam Gambhir ordered players to keep dressing room discussions private. Gautam Gambhir highlighted the need for strict confidentiality within the squad following the leaks in Australia.
"Before coming to Dubai, the players assembled at a hotel in Mumbai, where according to sources, Gambhir’s team-talk centred around how even a whisper shouldn’t go out of the dressing room. After the leaks controversy in Australia, a foolproof measure has become the need of the hour," read the RevSportz report on Gautam Gambhir's stance.
"After landing in Dubai, India straightway decided to train from 1 pm local time on Sunday. There’s no time to waste," the report added.
