Former Pakistan batsman Mudassar Nazar has felt that the batting greats like Graham Gooch had levelled up his game in his 30s and has reckoned Virat could have the same impact. Virat Kohli has shown a slump in form in the last two years as he hasn’t scored a single international century for a long time now and hasn’t been at his best too.

Virat Kohli was touted to break all the records in the game including the greatest of all time, Sachin Tendulkar’s but the Delhi-born lad had seen a pause in his century count. He hasn’t been able to add up to his tally of 70 centuries so far and it has been a major concern for all his fans. He still remains to be India’s best player in all formats and he is expected to make a big comeback soon.

“I See Virat Coming Back Big-Time” – Mudassar Nazar

Mudassar Nazar had stated the example of Graham Gooch who had a brilliant later half in his career and noted that Virat could be up for a big finish in his late 30s. Nazar added that giving up the captaincy for his IPL team and for India in T20Is will definitely get his old touchback.

“I can draw a Graham Gooch analogy, who in his mid-30s, upped his game to the extent of being one of the best, finishing with close to 9,000 runs in Test cricket. I see Virat coming back big-time. Maybe, giving up Bangalore and India’s T20 captaincy will have a positive impact now.” Mudassar Nazar as quoted by Indian express

Mudassar Nazar Reckons Virat Could Eye In A Break

Mudassar Nazar mentioned that Virat could even get his old touch by taking a break from the game or even spending a lot more time in the crease. He added that it is totally up to Virat in terms of how he will get out of the poor form.

“Whether a break would help him, Virat is the best judge. If he thinks he needs a breather to get back to form, it’s his call. If he thinks more time in the middle is required to come out of a lean patch, that’s also his decision. It’s entirely up to Virat.” he added
