Glenn Maxwell excited about new European T20 League

Meanwhile, Glenn Maxwell is confident that the new European T20 Premier League (ETPL) can help cricket grow strongly across Europe. The first season of the tournament will begin on August 26, bringing experienced players together with the European cricketers.

Maxwell is also the co-owner and captain of Belfast Wolves. He spoke about his experience of building the team from the ground up during the player draft. The explosive all-rounder believes the league can give young European players a big opportunity to learn from international stars and improve their skills while helping cricket reach more fans across the continent.

He said in the ETPL statement, “Incredibly happy with how the draft went for the Belfast Wolves. It was a new experience for me to be involved that heavily, starting a team from scratch and going through the list management process.

We are extremely happy with the way the draft went. We were able to get the picks we needed and the playing skills we needed to complete our list. We have good depth in both batting and bowling, which will be crucial in a long tournament. Overall, we feel we have built a strong and balanced side for the Wolves.”
