Who is Mitch Owen?
Mitch Owen has been making waves across domestic cricket with his explosive batting ever since he was promoted as an opener. After smashing an unbeaten 101 off 64 balls against Sydney Thunder in the league stage, Hobart Hurricanes all-rounder has delivered an even more jaw-dropping knock in the final—blasting 108 off just 42 balls, including 11 towering sixes.
His red-hot form didn’t stop there. In the One-Day Cup, the right-handed batter hammered a stunning 149 off 69 deliveries for Tasmania. Owen's heroics in the Big Bash League (BBL) have not gone unnoticed, as his power hitting landed him contracts in both the SA20 and the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Mitch Owen busy with his PSL 2025 commitment.
The young Aussie sensation made his SA20 debut with the Paarl Royals, and he is currently playing for the Peshawar Zalmi in the ongoing PSL 2025. It remains to see when Owen will join the PBKS, as he can’t leave the PSL 2025 until Peshawar Zalmi finishes its campaign.
There are only three games left in the ongoing PSL 2025 for Peshawar Zalmi, with the last game being on May 9, but they are still in the playoffs contention, so it will be interesting to see if Owen will be available for Punjab Kings and how many matches in the ongoing IPL 2025.
