Indian captain Shubman Gill was seen abusing England opener Zak Crawley for the latter's time wasting on Day 3 of the 3rd Test at Lord's. Things got heated up when the hosts came in to bat in the dying minutes of the third day's play at Lord's.
There was absolutely nothing to separate India and England when both teams finished their 1st innings of the match. In what turned out to be only the 9th incident in Test Cricket history, the scores of both teams were level at 387/10 after the 1st innings.
India and England fight it out hard
In the last session of the day, India's tail could not capitalize on the good batting performance from the top order and the middle order. Immediately after Ravindra Jadeja's wicket, the batting collapsed, and the visitors could only manage to level the hosts.
When England walked out to bat, 2 overs of cricket were possible within the stipulated time. However, the England openers, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett, did not want that to happen, given that India's new ball bowlers have done well against England in recent series.
Zak Crawley took the strike as Jasprit Bumrah came in to bowl the 1st over of the innings. However, after every ball, Crawley started taking time to take his guard, which initially annoyed Bumrah and the Indian fielding unit.
As Bumrah started his run-up for the 3rd delivery, Zak Crawley moved out just when the pacer was about to land at the popping crease. This annoyed Shubman Gill and his boys, with the Indian captain leading the charge and asking Crawley to show some Courage.
However, things went far too far when Crawley called in the physio when just 2 balls were left for the over to finish. Jasprit Bumrah hit Crawley on his glove, and Crawley signalled for the physio straightaway.
Shubman Gill loses his cool at Zak Crawley
This annoyed the Indian captain, Shubman Gill, and the entire fielding unit. Shubman Gill, who was placed in the slip region, ran up to Zak Crawley and hurled a mouthful at the English opener. Soon, all the Indian teammates joined in too.
Things got nasty as the umpires had to step in and separate the England openers, Crawley and Duckett, who were having a go at their Indian opponents. The Indian fielding unit also made sure they gave it back, with captain Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj throwing verbal assaults.
Eventually, the over finished with no casualty to the England Cricket Team as they walked off on Day 3 with the score of 2/0. Ben Duckett hasn't faced a ball in the 2nd innings, and things might get even more heated given the current position of the IND vs ENG Test series.
However, Indian captain Shubman Gill has made it more than evident with his actions that it is not going to be a walk in the park for the hosts with his batting and captaincy.
At the moment, the series stands level at 1-1 with all to play for in the next couple of days at the Lord's Test. However, the way this Lord's pitch has behaved until now, it looks highly unlikely that a result can be produced in the normal course of play.
The stump mic caught Shubman Gill shouting at Zak Crawley and saying, "Grow some fucking balls."

Spectators are in for some box office action
But Cricket, as they say, is a funny game. If the weather comes into play or one side has a dramatic batting collapse, we might still witness the result. One must not forget that it was this Lord's where Virat Kohli's team India gave 60 overs of hell to England on the final day of the Test in 2021 and won it.
Now, years later, Shubman Gill holds the reins of this new Indian Test team. With the bat, Shubman Gill has broken a plethora of records already, and with aggression evident on the field, he shows there are no signs of stopping him or this feisty Indian team.
