Gujarat Titans (GT), for the first two seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022 and 2023, finished at the top spot in the league stage of the tournament. They became the champions in the maiden edition of the competition before ending as the runners-up in the thrilling final against the Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

But with Hardik Pandya’s departure and Mohammed Shami’s injury, the franchise struggled in the previous edition as they ended at the eighth position in the group stage of the event. Shubman Gill, the new leader, couldn’t do well in the overall tournament. Their bowling department didn’t click at all in the entire season.

Gujrat Titans to play successive home backs to start IPL 2025

The start of the IPL 2025 has been really sweet for the Gujarat Titans, who will begin their campaign for the event on March 25 at the Narendra Modi Stadium against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) before extending their homestay against the Mumbai Indians on March 29.

After two successive home games, the travel period will start for the Shubman Gill-led side. They will move to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium for the first away fixture against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who has a lead of 3-2 in the face-off between the two sides, winning both clashes in the last season.

Gujarat Titans will move to another city in the South at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium for the clash against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). On return at home, they will be up against the Rajasthan Royals before making a trip to the Ekana Stadium for another mouth-watering clash against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their first-afternoon fixture.

Gujarat Titans to play four away games in two weeks

The biggest challenge for the 2022 champions will be the second half of the competition, when the games will start to come thick and fast, and Gujarat Titans will mostly play their games away from home. That will be an issue in balancing the playing eleven, especially at the business end of the competition.

Gujarat Titans will make their trips to Kolkata and Rajasthan for the two away clashes in the last week of April, before playing one home game against the Sunrisers. They will again move to Mumbai and Delhi for two more away games.

However, there is an advantage in the schedule. If they find themselves at a spot of needing two wins in the season to qualify for the tournament, they will have both the last two group-stage clashes at home, providing them a great chance to use their conditions against the opponents.

Jos Butler’s explosive batting at the top with Gill and Kagiso Rabada and Mohammad Siraj’s excellent new ball bowling will be vital for their fate in the IPL 2025. They hope to add another title to the cabinet after a tough season last year.
