Gujarat Titans (GT) will be facing Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Eliminator of the ongoing IPL 2025. The GT vs MI match will be played on Friday (May 30) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
Gujarat Titans was looking destined to end up in the top two after collecting 18 points with two league games remaining. However, the Shubman Gill-led side lost the momentum at a time when teams usually like to play their best cricket.
Gujarat Titans suffered heavy losses in their last two league games and eventually finished the league stage at the third spot in the table.
While they have struggled in recent games, they will take confidence from their two wins over MI earlier in the season.
As GT looks to bounce back and register a win in the Eliminator, we are taking a look at the Gujarat Titans Playing 11 vs Mumbai Indians.
Gujarat Titans Playing 11 vs Mumbai Indians- IPL 2025, Eliminator:
Openers: Shubman Gill (C), Sai Sudharsan
Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan are set to be the openers in the GT Playing 11 for the upcoming game. Their performance at the top of the order is one of the main reasons behind GT's dominating performance this season.
Sudharsan is currently the leading run-scorer in the tournament while Gill is at the second spot. Sudharsan has scored 679 runs so far while Gill has scored 649 runs.
With form on their side, both the Gujarat Titans openers will be looking to deliver with the bat in the upcoming game as well and guide their team to a match-winning total. Gill will also look to lead his team from the front as he eyes his first IPL title as a captain.
Middle-order: Kusal Mendis (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan
Gujarat Titans will be without Jos Buttler for the playoffs. The England star was also a consistent performer with the bat for the Titans. Buttler scored 538 runs and his unavailability leaves a massive hole in the GT Playing 11.
GT have signed up Sri Lanka's Kusal Mendis as a replacement and the Sri Lanka star will look to justify the faith shown in him.
Sherfane Rutherford and Shahrukh Khan are the other middle-order options in the GT Playing 11. Both the batsmen have done well with the bat whenever they have got the opportunity this season and will look to impress in the Eliminator as well.
Rahul Tewatia is also capable of playing decisive knocks with the bat but the allrounder has not got too many runs under his belt to feel confident. However, he is likely to remain in the GT Playing 11.
Rashid Khan is another option in the lower order who can play impactful cameos with the bat. However, his form with the ball will be a huge concern for Gujarat Titans.
The Afghan star has managed to pick up just 9 wickets in 14 games so far at an economy rate of 9.47.
He has also conceded 31 sixes, the joint-most for any bowler in an IPL season and will have to come up with something special in the Eliminator to make an impact.
Bowlers: Arshad Khan, R Sai Kishore, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna
The GT Playing 11 is likely to have as many as four pacers. In-form Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj are set to lead the pace attack with Arshad Khan and Gerald Coetzee as the other options. O
ne of the bowlers is likely to be used as an Impact Player. On the other hand, R Sai Kishore is set to be the frontline spinner in the GT Playing 11.
