Gujarat Titans are reportedly behind two players ahead of the IPL 2027 season. Both of the possible trades are like for like substitution, but upgrades over the existing team. During a RevSportz Hindi YouTube live, Rohit Juglan, a journalist, claimed that the Gujarat Titans (GT) are looking to bring in Shivam Dube from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Nehal Wadhera from the Punjab Kings (PBKS).

It could be a player-for-player deal in both of the possible trades. If Gujarat Titans want to secure the services of Dube and Wadhera, then whom will they consider releasing before the 2027 season?

Why could Gujarat Titans leave Gurnoor Brar?

As per the claims made in the video, GT is considering releasing Gurnoor Brar and Washington Sundar from their existing team. It was shocking to hear, as both of them remain a crucial part of the India National Cricket Team.

Washington Sundar, a spin-bowling all-rounder, has been a key figure in the Indian cricket team for years now, and Gurnoor Brar, a fast bowler, proved his class instantly soon after making his debut for the Men in Blue.

Nehal Wadhera from PBKS in place of Gurnoor Brar makes sense as the Titans already have a well-composed pace bowling attack in the presence of Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Ashok Sharma, Jason Holder and multiple other talents on their bench. Brar, who has played well for the national cricket team, did not feature for Gujarat in the previous season of the Indian Premier League. Actually, he has played only one match in the league since making his debut for the Punjab Kings in 2023.

As Gujarat needs no extra pacer, as they already have in their set-up, they could go for Nehal Wadhera, who is a spin-bowling all-rounder who can add more value as a lower-middle-order batter with his explosive batting instincts.

Gurnoor Brar can be an absolute bargain for the Punjab Kings

On the other side, PBKS could also welcome Gurnoor Brar as they lack quality in the pace bowling order. Arshdeep Singh was too expensive in the previous season, leaving Marcos Jansen as the only remaining top-end fast bowler in the team.

But why should GT like to trade out Washington Sundar for the CSK fast-bowling all-rounder Shivam Dube, who has been in great form for months now?

Shivam Dube is reportedly not happy with the Chennai Super Kings

The journalist in the video claimed that Dube might not be happy with the Chennai Super Kings and would like to take an exit.

“I said that one piece of information is that Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans are also talking, one conversation is going on between Gujarat and Chennai, and one conversation is going on between Punjab and Gujarat, Nihal Vadhera, Gurnoor Brar,” Rohit Juglan said in the video.

“Again, (Ravichandran) Ashwin said about Khalil yesterday; I can say the same thing about Dubey: that Dubey is not happy, so I feel that this deal can have an effect on that deal as well,” he mentioned later in the conversation with another journalist.
