The International Cricket Council (ICC) has added one demerit point and sanctioned a penalty of 10% of the match fee to the Pakistan Women's National Cricket Team batter Gull Feroza.
She was found guilty under Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "showing dissent at an Umpire's decision during an International Match".
ICC takes action against the Pakistan women's team batter Gull Feroza
On the evening of September 8, the ICC shared an official press release to inform the public about the actions taken against the Pakistan women's cricket team batter. His actions went under the scanner during Pakistan's Women's Asia Cup 2026 match against Hong Kong, where Gull Feroza reacted after the umpire gave her an LBW dismissal.
She was furious with the umpire's decision, and, showing the bat, she indicated the ball touched the bat. However, the umpire remained on the decision, and Gull had to depart. Days after the incident, the ICC officially confirmed the actions after reviewing the whole episode.

In their official release, the ICC mentioned that Gull Feroza admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees member Supriya Rani Das. As the cricketer herself admitted her offence, there will be no formal hearing in that incident.
According to the official release, On-field umpires Rabab Ahsan and Rokeya Sultana, third umpire Shivani Mishra, and fourth umpire Shathira Jakir took charge against the Pakistan women's team batter.
Along with 10% of her match fee, the cricket council added one demerit point to her account as well. ICC informed that it was her second offence within 24 months, which resulted in a couple of demerit points within thise mentioned time period.
Gull Feroza received her first demerit point during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup league match against Australia on 23 Jun . for committing an offence.
The Level 1 fine could have been more serious for the cricketer. A Level 1 offence could result in a minimum sanction of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player's match fee. Additionally, it also carries one or two demerit points as well.
Gull Feroza is struggling with his batting form
The 27-year-old's recent form is currently far away from her best. In her last three matches, the batter scored only 3 runs in total ,including a couple of ducks and a 3-run innings. In the ongoing Women's Asia Cup, Gull departed for two back-to-back ducks during Pakistan's matches against Thailand and their arch riv, theals India Women's National Cricket Team. Against Hong Kong, the keeper-batter was dismissed after scoring three runs.
Like Gull, the Asia Cup 2026 is not going well for the Pakistan women's national cricket team as well. They faced a massive setback when all of their batters were dismissed only for 55 runs on the scoreboard, which was their lowest against India in the format.
