Star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against England due to a quadricep injury. Pandya is not part of the ongoing three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, where the Shubman Gill-led team secured an unassailable 2-0 lead after the first two matches.
Hardik remains a key player for India as the team builds toward the 2027 ODI World Cup under captain Shubman Gill. However, his latest injury has once again raised concerns over his fitness. The selectors and team management are expected to carefully manage his workload to reduce the risk of further injuries.

India Take Cautious Approach With Hardik Pandya After Injury Setback
Hardik Pandya's recovery has taken longer than expected, forcing him to miss several upcoming series for India. After being ruled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan, the star all-rounder will also miss the T20I series against Ireland and England.
The selectors have also excluded Hardik from India's squad for the Asian Games, where the men's cricket competition begins on September 24. This decision will allow him to focus on ODI World Cup 2027.
Hardik suffered a thigh strain while training at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru before the Afghanistan series. He immediately informed the medical team and underwent scans, which ruled him out of the series. Although there was initial hope that he would recover in time, he has not regained full fitness.
According to the latest reports, Hardik is not yet fit enough to bowl and play in ODI cricket. He needs more time to complete his recovery and return to full match fitness.
