Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf attracted a lot of attention for his on-field behavior during the Super Four match against India in the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium. Rauf made controversial “6-0” and “fighter jet” gestures, and Indian fans called him “disgusting” and “incompetent.”

Rauf was the best bowler for Pakistan in the recent match on Sunday, September 21. He took two wickets, including India captain Suryakumar Yadav for a duck.

However, the right-arm fast bowler Haris Rauf struggled against India’s openers, with Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma scoring 18 runs off just 11 balls.

Rauf Taunted by ‘Kohli, Kohli’ Chants During Asia Cup Clash

During the recent match, Indian fans teased Haris Rauf, who was fielding near the boundary. The crowd repeatedly chanted “Kohli, Kohli” from the stands. They reminded the fast bowler of the 2022 T20 World Cup, when Virat Kohli had hit him for back-to-back sixes in Melbourne.

Rauf responded with the controversial “6-0” gesture and a fighter jet motion. He wanted to provoke the spectators with his controversial gestures.

Earlier, Rauf had also been heard shouting “6-0” during Pakistan’s practice session at the ICC Academy in Dubai. Videos and pictures of his on-field antics quickly went viral online, adding fuel to tensions between the two teams.

Haris Rauf’s Wife Responds to Husband's Controversial Gesture

Following the match, Haris Rauf’s wife shared an Instagram story saying, “Lost the game but won the battle!” Notably, Pakistan suffered its consecutive defeat against India in the ongoing Asia Cup. Pakistan have not defeated India in any white-ball formats since the T20 World Cup 2022.

The “6-0” reference is linked to Pakistan’s baseless claims that they shot down six Indian fighter jets during the four-day conflict following Operation Sindoor.

Rauf’s gestures were widely seen as echoing this baseless narrative. India launched Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. The Indian Army attacked terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) in May 2025.

Pakistan Suffer Six Wicket Defeat in Super Four Clash

Pakistan posted a total of 171 runs after batting first. They lost momentum in the second half and fell 15–20 runs short. Their batters showed more determination than in the earlier meeting with India.

During the chase, openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill took complete control from the start. Sharma began with a first-ball six and scored 74 off 39 balls, including six fours and five sixes. Gill added 47 runs off 28 balls before being dismissed.

Despite on-field tensions and heated exchanges, Sharma’s aggressive innings made the chase look easy. The Men in Blue guided India to a six-wicket victory. Suryakumar Yadav's side will take on Bangladesh in their next match, and a victory could guide them to the final.
