England batters are in full mood to bleed the Pakistani bowlers on the highway pitch of the Multan Cricket Stadium in the ongoing opening test of the three-match Test series.

After Joe Root’s record-breaking innings, Harry Brook joined the party with his record double ton in Multan.

Brook started his innings patiently, but then the batter displayed his aggressive mode and went on to hammer his maiden double hundred in Test cricket on Day 4 of the ongoing first Test between Pakistan and England at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Harry Brook shines with maiden double century as England dominate Pakistan in Multan Test

The right-handed batter is emerging like a Kohinoor for England in Test cricket, especially in Pakistan. It seems that Pakistan is becoming his favorite place to smoke centuries, as Brook smashed centuries in his every outing in the Asian nation in the longest format of the game.

The 25-year-old England has smoked a hundred in his first, second, and third Test in Pakistan, and now with his unbeaten 200 in the ongoing Multan Test, Brook recorded his maiden double century in his fourth Test in the country. It was his highest score in Test cricket.

In the first ball of the 126th over of England’s first innings, Brook scored a single against Naseem Shah by tapping a back-of-a-length delivery outside off to a deep backward point to earn his first double-century in Test cricket. It was also his first double-hundred in first-class cricket.

He celebrated his incredible achievement by raising his arms after taking off his helmet and receiving a warm hug from his teammate and batting partner, Joe Root.

Brook and Root have already stitched an unbeaten 400+ partnership for the third wicket in the ongoing Multan Test.

England achieves rare double century feat in Multan Test

Following Brook’s maiden double Test hundred, England achieved the rare feat of having multiple double-hundreds in the same innings.

In 1985, G Fowler and Mike Gatting scored 201 and 207 runs, respectively, against India in Chennai. And now, Root (259*) and Harry Brook (218*) repeated this achievement against Pakistan in Multan.

Meanwhile, Harry Brook has made history by becoming the first player to score a century in four consecutive Test matches in Pakistan.

He reached this milestone on the third day of the first Test against Pakistan. Previously, during his 2022 tour, Brook had already secured three centuries.

Harry Brook joins the elite club with his fourth hundred against Pakistan

On October 9, Brook hammered his fourth Test century against Pakistan to equal the record of legends like Brian Lara, Jacques Kallis, David Warner, and Kane Williamson, who all have also scored four consecutive Test centuries against Pakistan.

However, Brook is the only player to hit four consecutive centuries in Pakistan in the traditional format of the game.

Well, the Multan Test is almost slipper from Pakistan’s hands, as England has already taken a 102-run lead after the first session on Day 4 of the first Test, with their current score being at 658/3. The hosts can only pull off a draw in Multan against England; otherwise, their other defeat is almost confirmed.
