"Hate to see him on the field.": Michael Vaughan takes an unfiltered dig at LSG owners
PC: X

Michael Vaughan, the former English skipper, pointed out that the LSG owners' interference in team decisions has led to mismanagement in the LSG camp. They are piled with too many brilliant heads of the game.

The Lucknow Super Giants could not manage to perform to the best of their ability despite having three of the highest-scoring batters on their side. Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, and Nicholas Pooran all finished the season with a pile of runs; however, Rishabh Pant faced a drought of runs.

They resumed the season from where they had left; however, this time the defeat was the outcome of a failure of their batters on their own home ground. However, LSG started their campaign with a humiliating defeat.

Michael Vaughan backs Rishabh Pant to open for LSG in IPL 2026

Rishabh Pant, the LSG skipper, has the liberty to swap his role in the Lucknow Super Giants side. He hence promoted himself to the top of the order and opened the innings for the Lucknow Super Giants in their opening clash against the Delhi Capitals.

However, after being dismissed in an unfortunate manner, having failed to make a significant contribution, Pant claimed that he is not sure if he will continue to open for his franchise.

"Yeah, he should open if he has opened in the first game. If that's the decision that Rishabh's going to open with Mitch, that should be for 5 to 6 games. In those 5-6 games, everything kind of moves itself," claimed Michael Vaughan.

Michael Vaughan's hurtful remarks on LSG owners

The former England skipper Michael Vaughan mentioned that he hates to see the LSG owners on the field, always indulging in talks with the team players and the management.

"I look from quite far away, and I see the LSG owner on the pitch with Tom Moody, Rishabh and Justin Langer. I hate seeing them. After one game on the pitch, he can have those conversations in private," Michael Vaughan fired in at the LSG owners.

"Even if they are nice conversations, I just don't understand them. What you do, and then you leave it to people to suggest others in the group, maybe or maybe not, it might just be a fun conversation.

"I think tomorrow is a big, big game for both these sides," he added.

IPL 2026 is Rishabh Pant's last chance to bounce back in white-ball cricket

This season of the IPL will be the last chance for the Indian wicket-keeper batter to opt for the best return in the white-ball format. He has not performed well enough in the white-ball games for India, as a result of which he has not featured in a single game for them over the past year.

Once credited as one of the top-choice performers among glovemen, Rishabh is now not even considered as a backup in the Indian white-ball side. He had a dismal season in the previous season of the IPL, and would look to improve his statistics this time around.
