Have few Team India stars breached the bio-secure bubble? This is the question that is doing the round after Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill and Navdeep Saini were recently spotted by a fan in a restaurant in Melbourne. Both the teams are currently in bio-secure bubbles as Australian states have come up with new stricter border restrictions in the wake of a recent COVID-19 outbreak.

Recently, Australia star Steve Smith could not meet his wife Dani Willis due to the new strict rules imposed by Cricket Australia. Smith had to celebrate Christmas with only his teammates because of the rules. Prior to that, partners had been allowed to join players in the bubble after a three-day quarantine, but the coronavirus outbreak in Sydney’s Northern Beaches has put paid to those plans.

Cricket Australia was forced to change the rules allowing partners into the bubble as a result, meaning Willis had to wait longer to reunite with Smith, despite dashing into Melbourne from Sydney before Victoria closed its borders to all residents of Greater Sydney. And amidst all these, Team India stars visiting a restaurant raises a big question.

At a time when nobody from outside is permitted inside the bio-secure bubble even after a three-day quarantine period, the players visiting a restaurant will definitely raise a number of eyebrows. On Friday, a fan named Navaldeep Singh took to Twitter to post a clip of Rohit Sharma, Navdeep Saini, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill eating at the restaurant. The fan, in his tweet, only spoke about his excitement over seeing the India stars and also revealed that he had paid their bill worth AUD 118.69 (INR 6683).

In a different tweet, he revealed how the entire episode unfolded. When the players got to know about the fan paying the bill for them, Rohit Sharma asked him to take the money. However, the fan declined and asked for a photo before hearing a hilarious comment from Pant. The India wicketkeeper told him that he would get a photo only if takes the money back. The fan, however, declined again before Pant hugged him. Team India stars then obliged for the photo before walking away.
