Team India remains winless in their ongoing UK tour. After going down against Ireland in two back-to-back matches, they lost to England tonight in the second of the 5-match bilateral series after an abandoned match in Durham. With tonight’s win, Harry Brook's England takes a 1-0 lead in the series.

The first match of the 5-match T20I series had to be declared abandoned due to rain in the second innings, but the second match was an absolute thriller as there were multiple notable moments from batters and bowlers from both of the sides.

Ishan Kishan was the most successful batter for India

The match in Manchester turned special instantly as the 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made his Team India debut in T20Is during the match. Vaibhav registered his first international match for the senior national cricket team with a six off the England pacer Jofra Archer. He started his innings well, but had to go for only 14 runs.

Ishan Kishan was the highest scorer for the team with 49 runs. Continuing his good form, Abhishek Sharma added 43 runs to help Team India to confirm a total of 190 runs. Later in the first innings, an explosive cameo from Tilak Varma's blade boosted the run rate.

Sam Curran, with 3 wickets- the wickets of Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Shivam Dube- was the most successful bowler for the England National Cricket Team at the Old Trafford cricket ground.

India took 2 wickets in the opening over of the second innings

Arshdeep Singh provided India with a solid start with the new ball in hand. In the very first ball of the second innings, the seamer dismissed both Phil Salt and Jos Buttler for ducks. Salt departed for a golden duck.

In his second over of his spell, Arshdeep leaked 27 runs as the England skipper Harry Brook smashed the fast bowler for a couple of 4s and a hat-trick of 6s. Axar Patel clinched Brook's wicket soon to complete his 100th T20 International wicket for India.

At the drinks break of the second innings, the Three Lions needed exactly 100 runs from 10 overs to win the match. Jacob Bethell remained not out to secure the win for his team. England won the match by 4 wickets and 6 balls to spare.

"Extremely pleased": Harry Brook after 4 wicket win over India

After the match, England captain Harry Brook mentioned that he is extremely happy with the performance to claim the win. He praised the seamer, Sam Curran, for his brilliant bowling spell. He looked happy as the batters worked hard to collect the runs.

Harry Brook stated, "Extremely pleased, yeah. I thought the lads who fielded in the field were outstanding. And it's one of the things that we spoke about, trying to get off the rope and stop the twos. And there were some decent stats there. I think we had 11 twos and they had five. So we were pretty happy with that," Harry Brook said at the presentation ceremony.

"We knew that we could chase that with the wind and the dimensions of the ground. The idea was to get off to a really good start in the power play. That didn't quite work in the first couple of overs. But we were happy with where we were after that power play. He's awesome to have out there (Bethell). He bowled beautifully in that little phase," Harry Brook added.
