Former India batsman Ambati Rayudu is facing the heat for posting a preachy post amid the escalating tension between India and Pakistan.
His post came a few minutes after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was called off. While the BCCI stated that the game has been called off due to a technical issue, their vice-president Rajeev Shukla and IPL chief Arun Dhumal confirmed that the game was stopped due to security reasons.

"Yes, the match has been called off as a precautionary step, because there are some incidents which happened in Jammu, I believe. That’s what we got to know, so we thought it’s wise to call off the game," Dhumal said.
Ambati Rayudu slammed by fans:
At a time when the entire country is showing unwavering support to the government and the armed forces, Ambati Rayudu decided to post a message on X (formerly Twitter) that has not gone down well with many.
The former batsman, who was called a 'joker' by Kevin Pietersen in the past and has been ridiculed by the fans throughout this IPL for his commentary, took to X to post: "An eye for an eye makes the world blind..🙏🙏🙏"
Unsurprisingly, the post did not go down well with the majority of the users, and they did not shy away from slamming him for the same. The comment section of the post from Ambati Rayudu was filled with abuse and angry reactions in no time. At the time of writing this report, the post had more than 12000 comments.

Have some shame, even CSK fans won't defend you.

The other option here is losing both our eyes. Only you can support it so that you can't see someone else going to the world cup instead of you.

That's why selectors turned blind eye to you during World Cup Tmkc

Bkl the least you could do is support your nation, when the other one is the one that started attacking civilians.

Rayudu was not the only cricketer to post about the ongoing situation. Former India opener Virender Sehwag also took to X to post a message and was lauded by the fans for his message. The former cricketer, who never shies away from showing his love for the country, wrote:
"War has been chosen by Pakistan when they had an opportunity to keep quiet. They have escalated to save it’s terrorist assets, speaks so much about them. Our forces will reply in the most appropriate manner, a manner Pakistan will never forget."
Meanwhile, the IPL governing council has called an emergency meeting to take a call on the tournament. In another development, the BCCI has reportedly decided to evacuate players from Dharamsala through a special train.
