Roston Chase is oozing with confidence as the West Indies National Cricket Team is heading for the second and decider of the 2-match Test series against Pakistan after a 90-run emphatic victory in Trinidad.
Chase, the West Indies captain ahead of the second match, mentions that they are moving in the right direction following the road map they have laid out. West Indies' second Test match against the Pakistan National Cricket Team starts at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain on Sunday, August 2.
The home team has the opportunity to whitewash Pakistan by claiming the second match. Chase and Co. have been in good form since their home series against Sri Lanka, where they defeated the team from the Island nation by 1-0 in a two-match Test series.

Maintaining the form, the hosts outplayed Pakistan in the previous match and are dreaming of a clean sweep. In the previous match, Pakistan were in control in the first innings until a spell by Justin Greaves. Greaves, a fast bowler, recorded five consecutive maiden-over wickets to derail Pakistan's innings.
In the next innings, it was Jayden Seales who stole the show and awarded West Indies a clinical win over the visitors. In the last week of June, the Caribbeans demolished the Sri Lanka cricket team by an innings and 217 runs.
The massive win against Sri Lanka and Pakistan has doubled the Caribbeans' confidence in the format, which is expected to help them move forward in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

Ahead of the second Test against Pakistan, Roston Chase told the media that they aim to make their home grounds like a fortress against the touring teams, as they are the best who know the conditions there very well.
"We've enjoyed some excellent results at home recently, and we want to keep building on that. Our goal is to make the Caribbean a very difficult place for visiting teams because we understand these conditions better than anyone else. Home advantage should count, and we want to continue using it to our benefit," Roston Chase told the reporters.

He further mentioned that after last year's poor form, where they got only one win in nine Tests, they revised their plan and now they are moving according to the blueprint. Roston Chase is hopeful for better results following the process in the upcoming days.
"We had a clear plan after last year and identified where we wanted to be as a team. We're moving in the right direction, but we know there's another level to reach. Our focus is to stick to our processes, execute our plans, and give ourselves the best chance of winning this Test as well," the captain said.
Currently, they are at the 8th position in the 9-team WTC 2025-27 table, with the possibility to make progress in the standings if they manage to outplay Pakistan again in the series.
